Khadijah was the wife of Prophet Muhammad. Was Khadijah a Christian before converting to Islam, considering that her uncle Waraqah Naufal was a Christian?
Khadijah bint Khuwaylid, the first wife of Prophet Muhammad, was a respected figure in Meccan society and is known to have been a successful merchant before her marriage to Muhammad. There is no historical evidence to suggest that Khadijah herself was a Christian prior to her marriage to Muhammad or before the advent of Islam.
As for her uncle Waraqah Naufal, it is reported in Islamic tradition that he was a monotheist and had knowledge of previous scriptures, including the Injil (the Gospel). Some sources suggest that he may have been associated with the Ebionites or another Judeo-Christian sect, or perhaps he was a follower of Hanifism, a form of pre-Islamic monotheism in Arabia.
Waraqah is often mentioned because after Prophet Muhammad received his first revelation, Khadijah took him to Waraqah, who confirmed Muhammad's prophethood based on his own understanding of monotheistic scriptures.
The religious practices in Arabia before Islam were diverse, including various forms of polytheism, Christianity, Judaism, and Hanifism. However, Khadijah's own religious beliefs prior to Islam are not well documented, and there is no concrete evidence to indicate that she was a Christian.
When Islam was introduced by Prophet Muhammad, Khadijah was the first person to believe in his message and thus became the first convert to Islam.
